Knock-off Converse Shoes
8/10
I bought these bad boys from a thrift store in Seattle about 3 years ago. They were $1.50 and pretty much brand new. I thought “hey that’s pretty good for shoes that will last a year”, never did I think these shoes had the power to last three. As you can tell these are not Converse. They were called something like “StreetSneeks” or “Alleykicks”; basically something an over-the-hill, out-of-touch, marketing advisor thought up to appeal to kids. When I first bought them the bottom of the soles were fuzzy like a tennis ball. I wasn’t really sure why and thought it was goofy, however, it did provide about a month longer protection until it wore down to the regular rubber sole. As you can see these days they are pretty grungy looking, and the sole is starting to get really thin; I estimate a hole in a week or so. That will be a sad day for me, because not often can you find shoes for so cheap.
